Diamond core Drilling delivers a quiet, non-percussive way of forming holes and openings in materials such as concrete, brick, stone, asphalt glass and tile.
The result of our services is clean, precise and accurate diamond drilling holes requiring little or no reinstatement building work.
In Diamond Drilling there are two types of drilling, Wet or Dry.
Both techniques provide precise holes through all types of base materials.
When larger sized holes and openings are required we use a diamond drilling technique called stitch drilling. This involves overlapping core holes to any depth.
The stitch drilling technique is normally completed by core drilling 107mm or 127mm diameter core holes and inter-joining them to form larger openings.
The openings created by the stitch drilling technique can then have the option to be unlimited in size, shape and thickness.
A client may request that they have a requirement for a concrete core to be tested to determine the strength or consistency of the material we have diamond drilled.
The results collected can be used for safety assessment of an existing structure.
At Ed's Diamond Drilling Ltd we have the ability to have the concrete core sample(s) sent off after core drilling, to our local UKAS accredited testing laboratory and provide a full report of our findings.
Wall and floor sawing uses a diamond circular saw blade mounted onto a steep vertical wall or horizontal flat surface to form precise cuts and dimensions.
This concept is regularly used for door and window openings in reinforced concrete walls or floor.
The advantage of wall and floor cutting is: Accurate cuts, cost effective, wet cutting with a dust free environment.
Wall and floor Chasing is completed by cutting two parallel lines up to the depth of 40mm to accommodate conduit piping in various materials for example, Concrete, Standard brick, engineering Brick, flint and concrete block.
Chasing is used in all building concepts , mainly to conceal pipework or electric cables. Chasing is relatively dust free, vibration free and cost effective.
Track Sawing at Ed's Diamond Drilling Ltd.
Track sawing employs a circular blade on a track-mounted machine.
The track is attached to vertical walls or steep inclines or floors that will not permit the use of floor saws.
Wall or track sawing is typically specified to cut precise dimensional door, vent and window openings
